What is eIDAS

On 1 June 2016, Regulation No. 910/2014 on electronic identification and trust-building services for electronic transactions in the internal market (so-called eIDAS) entered into force.

This repeals Directive No. 1999/93 / EC on the framework for electronic signatures and the Czech Republic repeals Act No. 227/2000 Coll., on electronic signatures.

In addition to the area of electronic signatures, eIDAS extends the regulation to new areas, especially the cross-border recognition of electronic identification or web certificates.
