Logical Partition
A system of further partitioning, or segmentation (splitting) of total computer-processor-to-memory resources into smaller drives that can work with a customized copy of the operating system and applications.
Logical partitioning is typically used to allow individual operating systems and applications to be used on one device. Partitioning may or may not be configured to communicate with each other or to share some server resources, such as network interfaces.
